Our Core Mission
Every day, millions of people search for simple utilities: compressing a photo, combining two PDF pages, formatting a JSON payload, or testing a regular expression. Unfortunately, the vast majority of web tools upload these confidential files and texts to unknown cloud servers, where they may be stored, analyzed, or leaked.
WebUtilities was built to eliminate this compromise. We believe that modern personal computers and smartphones are more than powerful enough to handle image manipulation, PDF compilation, cryptography, and optical character recognition locally inside the web browser.
Zero Server Architecture
WebUtilities has no backend processing cluster. When you merge PDFs or compress an image on WebUtilities:
- Your files are parsed directly in your browser's memory using HTML5 Canvas, the Web Crypto API, and WebAssembly.
- 0 bytes of file data travel across the internet.
- Once you close or refresh the tab, temporary memory buffers are completely garbage collected.
Technology Stack
WebUtilities is written in standard HTML5, CSS3, and modern vanilla JavaScript with no heavyweight frameworks, tracking beacons, or third-party cookies.
